Diversion, cyberattacks, sabotage: how Putin tries to block assistance to Ukraine with weapons

To spread: Putin is looking for moves to stop European help. Demonstrative acts of aggression, which (so far) do not contain a military threat . . . On how Europe can resist it, the analyst Alexei Kopitko thinks. Putin had two foreign policy tasks for 2025: the first task was more or less successfully solved. The US does not impose sanctions, European has a limited impact. The second task is not solved.

Europe helps with weapons, Ukrainian production is financed, plus the United States has allowed to buy its weapons for Ukraine for European money. Which makes it impossible for Russia to succeed in the war in reasonable time at reasonable cost. Here is Putin and trying to find moves to stop European help. Diversion and sabotage. Cyberatics. Demonstrative acts of aggression against Europe, which (so far) do not contain a military threat. Etc.

All this will be converted to the calls to stop Ukraine's support. Putin's calculation is for the short -sightedness of European societies and the desire of politicians to live within short political cycles. What is the next step of the Kremlin after a hypothetical stop? It is quite obvious: at least - the requirement of Ukraine's neutrality, at the maximum - attracting the resources of Ukraine to the side of Russia.

Now there is no war in the EU solely because all the forces of the Russian Federation are chained to Ukraine. If the Russian Federation is able to release at least a third of these forces, the script for a number of countries is very sad. Everyone understands this, they are only ashamed to speak. Exit for the EU is not to try to delay the war and try to prepare, buying time at the cost of Ukrainian blood. It won't help.

It will only increase the likelihood of Ukraine's neutrality and sharply increase the risks of transition of Ukrainian resources to the side of the Russian Federation. Exit in the conclusion of a military union with Ukraine and actions adequate to wartime. For example, the first Ukrainian-European step could be the elimination of a "black hole"-"PMR". It is in common interest. At the same time, it will be checked - and whether the Moldova authorities really want to move to Europe.
