The Armed Forces breakthrough during a counter -offensive can finish the war quickly: experts named the conditions
According to analysts, the breakthrough of Ukrainian troops, similar to last year's offensive in Kharkiv region, will help to quickly complete the invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which has broken energy and grain markets around the world. However, if the Armed Forces is not able to achieve significant success, it will lead to prolonged fighting ("winter deaf angle") and will show that neither side has advantage.
In addition, other countries will increase pressure on Ukraine by proposing to abandon the occupied territories and impose ceasefire. Last year, Ukraine's defense forces used an element of suddenness, which is now much harder to reach. For success in Ukraine, it is necessary to conduct a complicated general military operation without preference in the air.
To do this, it is necessary to coordinate infantry, armored vehicles, sappers and air defense, to use more than 200 tanks, 300 infantry fighting vehicles and other weapons as effectively as possible to Ukrainians since December 2022. At the same time, a lot will depend on the preparation of the military, intelligence and the ability to fight the Russian aviation.
In late 2022 - early 2023, the Russian army achieved minor successes in the Bakhmut area, but on May 11, the commander of the Ukrainian Land Forces Alexander Sirsky reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had retreated 2 km. The failure of the Russians will cross the weeks of slow promotion of Wagner PEC, achieved by the cost of heavy losses.
However, the main part of the counter -offensive, according to experts, will unfold in the south of Ukraine, where the invaders built a strong line of defense. The Armed Forces will need special engineering equipment to exchange the path, overcome the trenches, and destroy the dugouts. In addition, hundreds of trucks and conveyors will be required to deliver heavy armored vehicles to positions faster than Russia will have time to respond.
Much depends on the amount of living force in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - if there are little soldiers, then the command will have to guess where the Ukrainian troops will strike, and the latter will be able to bypass the enemy from the flanks. The number of troops and equipment can become critical if Ukraine manages to break through the front line, since reserves will be required for any breakthrough.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine fears that a counter -offensive will not justify hope. According to the Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov, expectations from future successes of the Armed Forces on the battlefield are often overestimated. On May 11, the founder of the Wagner PEC Yevgeny Prigogin said that the Armed Forces counter -offensive had already begun. Ukrainian troops are actively attacking the Bakhmut direction, and the situation for the invaders is deteriorating.
