The Armed Forces are gradually liberating the region from the Kharkiv direction. The Russian sniper killed the last resident of the village of Novoselivske Luhansk region. The head of the Lugansk Regional Military Administration (OVA) Sergey Gaidai reported on Telegram on January 9.

"There are battles for Novoselivske - the village is destroyed completely and empty. The last local resident has killed a Russian sniper recently," the official said. According to Gaidai, the Russian military is strongly fired at the village of Nevskoye. There are no whole buildings left in the settlement, but more than a hundred civilians live there. "Two civilian residents were killed today, two more were injured as a result of hostile shelling," the Ova chairman added.

Gaidai cited statistics for the loss of enemy equipment over the last month. According to him, the Armed Forces destroyed 78 units of military equipment in the Lugansk direction. "Recently, pontoon crossing and 5 tanks (per day) were destroyed. One day, 23 units of RA ** are destroyed at once," he said. Recall that on January 8, British intelligence warned about the possible counter -offensive of the Armed Forces in Zaporizhzhya and Luhansk regions.
