The power system stands: why the Russian Federation will not be able to arrange a new blackout in Ukraine

According to the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko, Ukraine has accumulated energy, so part of the winter was successful. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues to strike in Ukrainian energy facilities and try to destroy the generation in the frontlines. But the effective air defense system and the measures that have been strengthened by physical protection of energy objects did not allow the Russians to cause significant damage to the power system.

The Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko said this. He noted that Ukraine now has reserves of fuel for winter. However, the country needs to replenish reserves to better prepare for repeated massive attacks of the Russian army. "We have enough reserves of coal, gas and nuclear fuel. And it gives us confidence that we have passed half of winter and stand it to the end," the minister stressed.

As Galushchenko explained, the safety margin appeared after the largest repair campaign on energy facilities, which took place in the spring and summer of 2023. "As of today, the system is stable, in particular thanks to partners, their support and our joint efforts," - said Herman Galushchenko. According to the chief dispatcher of Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaichenko, there are no guarantees that there will be no longer electricity in Ukraine.

He noted that the war is ongoing and Russian invaders do not give up terror. "We see that there is a supply of weapons from North Korea, Iran. It is absolutely impossible to guarantee that there will ", - said Vitaliy Zaichenko.
