The circle narrows: the Russians began to refuse massively in Georgia - the media

A few weeks ago, Tbilisi increased control of the State Border for Russian citizens. During this time, the border guards refused to enter Russian activists, journalists and lawyers, including those who live in Georgia. Russia's citizens began to be denied in mass entry into Georgia. About it writes the newspaper "Agency".

The director of the public organization Free Russia Foundation in the South Caucasus Yegor Kuroptev told reporters that Tbilisi had intensified control at the state border for Russians who were entering the country a few weeks ago. From now on, border guards forbid several dozen people from the Russian Federation daily.

Among those who have not allowed border guards to enter the country during this time are activists, journalists and lawyers, including those who live in Georgia or decided to leave the aggressor country because of their own security. "Neither the profession or the fact of residence in Georgia, nor the presence of a housing contract. If there is no residence document, a residence permit, no other documents are a guarantee of entry into Georgia for Russian citizens," Kuroptev commented.

According to the Agency, Free Russia Foundation has been helping to go to other countries by Russian human rights activists and activists who can be persecuted at home for political reasons for several years. Before that, the problems of the Russian entrance to Georgia also informed the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the Turkish city of Trabzon.

"Recently, cases of refusal to enter the territory of Georgia of Russian citizens at the Turkish-Georgian automobile checkpoint" Sarpi "(Hopa, province of Artwin, Turkey) have increased," the Consulate reported on August 26. Recall that after a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, Georgia has become one of the most popular countries for the relaxation of Russian citizens. Already in the summer, such cases began to be fixed almost daily.

Residents of the North Caucasus Federal District and Occupied Crimea collided with refusals. Also, border guards did not miss residents of other regions of Russia, who returned from Turkey on a personal car. Earlier, Focus reported that the Baltic countries agreed to limit the entry of Russians with Schengen visas. Russian citizens will not be able to enter Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia through land borders from the Russian Federation and Belarus.
