Will compete with the United States: China creates an "army" of 5,000 humanoid robots

To spread: The Chinese company Agibot offers three main robot lines and plans to increase its production capacity to more than 400 pieces per month. The Chinese robotic startup Agibot plans to release up to 5,000 humanoid robots this year, which corresponds to the plans of Ilona Mask for the production of Optimus robots. About it writes the newspaper South China Morning Post (SCMP).

According to Yao Maocin, the President of the Agibot intelligence unit, this year, the company plans to put from 3000 to 5000 robots, which is much more than last year, when less than 1,000 devices were delivered. Agibot also plans to open a new plant in the Pudun area to increase its production capacity to more than 400 robots per month. "This year, we intend to introduce new products in industrial scenarios, replacing people in certain tasks and creating tangible value to customers," Yao said.

The company representative also added that the introduction of humanoid robots in the household will probably take about five years. According to him, the widespread introduction will be possible as soon as the cost of one work will approach 50,000 yuan ($ 6,900). Yao noted that China has advantages in the field of humanoid robotics. In particular, it is a comprehensive chain of equipment supply and a large number of artificial intelligence professionals.

It is expected that as the scale of production, production costs will be significantly reduced. "The humanoid robotics industry is actually emerging, and many applications have not yet been developed, and production costs remain high," Yao stressed. According to the edition, Agibot was founded in 2023, and today it is a key player in the Shanghai Robotics sector. Currently, startup is estimated at about 10 billion yuan.
