Madrid will hold a secret meeting of the "coalition of the determined" regarding the Russian war: without cameras and phones

Share: Representatives of 35 countries that have joined the "coalition of the determined" to help Ukraine will hold a secret meeting in Madrid on November 4. During the negotiations, everyone will have their phones taken away and ordered to put them in a specially designated place. The Spanish edition found out that it will be about helping the Ukrainians and ending the war.

The secret summit of the "coalition of the determined" is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, El Mundo wrote. Journalists received closed documents with the schedule of the meeting. It turned out that it will last 6. 5 hours. Two main topics are being planned — financial support for Ukraine and the possibility of the appearance of European troops on Ukrainian territory. According to unnamed sources, the meeting will last from 9 to 15:30.

The approximate number of participants is 35. We are not talking about heads of state, but about a lower level of representation, which El Mundo called "general directors". At the end, the head of the Spanish Foreign Ministry will deliver a 30-minute speech, but without other contacts, as his position is higher than the positions of the guests, the article says. The media explained that the meeting will be closed to journalists and cameras, and participants must turn off and hand in their phones.

One of the topics of conversation is financial assistance to Ukraine. The second is the provision of security guarantees and the possible appearance of the Western military after the cessation of hostilities. "The meeting was organized with the utmost secrecy. Delegates are asked not to publish information about the meeting on public platforms or social networks," El Mundo found out.

The topic of security guarantees will cover a number of issues - what legal, political and diplomatic base should be in order to protect Ukraine from new aggression, the media wrote. "[It will also be] about the possible contribution of the "coalition of the determined" in deterring future Russian aggression," El Mundo concluded.

It should be noted that the "coalition of the determined" will hold a summit in Madrid a week after the meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the President of the United States Donald Trump in Washington. Zelensky arrived at the White House, raising the issue of providing Tomahawk missiles to end the war in Ukraine. Trump refused to talk about these missiles and instead announced a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest.

They decided not to hold the meeting in Budapest, and in the meantime, Ukraine's partners announced that they would work on a specific plan to end the war. The plan will be written on the basis of a document signed by Hamas and Israel at the initiative of Trump, the media clarified. As a reminder, on March 30, Focus talked about Trump's meeting with the leader of the People's Republic of China and collected the opinions of experts on how it could affect the end of the war in Ukraine.
