Support of Ukraine, strengthening sanctions against Russia and elaboration of security guarantees: Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with Ursula von der Lyen

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has a telephone conversation with the President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen. Ursula von Der Lyen has expressed condolences and solidarity with Ukrainians in connection with the Russian shelling of Ukraine this night. The Head of State thanked for his support and stressed that it was one of the biggest blows in Ukraine, the main purpose of which was Kiev. The search and rescue operation in the capital is still ongoing.

Leaders discussed diplomatic work to stop Russian aggression and guarantee Ukraine of true security. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that, until Russia takes real steps to peace, the pressure on it should intensify. The President of the European Commission spoke about the preparation of the 19th European Union sanction package and coordination with other partners. Particular attention was paid to European integration and the importance of opening a cluster for Ukraine and Moldova.
