Atomic submarine drove away from the British shores a spy ship of Russia: what is known

The Russian Amber Research Village was in La Manshi for several days. All this time the ships of the royal fleet were monitored. At the beginning of the week, the Russian spy vessel "Yantar" again arrived to the coast of the United Kingdom. According to Metro, the Minister of Defense John Gili told Parliament. The official reported that on Monday, the Russian ship entered the exclusive economic zone of the United Kingdom about 45 miles of the coast, in the Strait of La Cuns.

While the ship was moving through the waters of the United Kingdom, it was constantly tracked by two royal fleet ships - HMS Soomerset and HMS Tyne. The vessel was also "supervised" by the Air Force patrol planes. "Let me clarify: it is a Russian spy ship used to collect intelligence and mapping a critically important underwater infrastructure of the United Kingdom," the minister said.

The Minister of Defense added that before that in November 2024 the Spy ship was seen that "struggled over critically important underwater infrastructure of the United Kingdom. " But only after the head of the defense department allowed the Navy submarine to float nearby, did Amber left the waters of the United Kingdom and headed towards the Mediterranean.

In his message, the parliamentarians, John Gili, described Russia as the most serious and most prominent threat to the United Kingdom and indirectly addressed the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. "We see you, we know what you are doing and we will not evade decisive action to protect this country," the minister said. Gili said that international maritime law, adopted at the UN level, limits countries' actions against foreign vessels discovered in its sovereign waters.

However, in conjunction with NATO countries, the United Kingdom will increase the activity of the Russian Navy. In particular, the royal military-air forces will allocate a reconnaissance aircraft, which will join the NATO mission to protect critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea. Officially, Amber is a vessel of the Ministry of Defense of Russia engaged in the study of oceans. He was lowered to the water in 2015.

According to open data, a vessel with an autonomy up to 60 days and a range of swimming in 8000 miles, can simultaneously ensure the use of two autonomous deep -sea devices of the Project 16810 "Rus" and the project 16811 "Consul". Batyskapies can lower to a depth of 6000 meters and 6270 meters, respectively. They, among other things, can take video shooting, explore underwater objects, carry out technical work on the seabed and send to the soil or lift objects up to 200 kg.
