According to the source, Sergey Onishchenko began his career from the position of a pilot of the fighter aviation regiment and reached the position of Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the period from 2010 to 2012. His contribution to the service was awarded with numerous state awards and medals. Sergey Onishchenko was born in a military family on February 23, 1954 in Chuguev, Kharkiv region.
He successfully graduated from the Kharkiv Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots, the Air Force Academy and the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Despite the extremely difficult life and service trials, he remained courageous, real, tuned for good! Colleagues and comrades remember him as a real warrior, a professional, a competent and human commander," the Air Force said. Sergey Onishchenko has changed many garrisons and positions.
He began with the post of senior pilot, and later became a squadrons commander. Later - Deputy Commander and Commander of the Fighter Aviation Regiment, Deputy Commander of the Aviation Division. In 1992, Serhiy Onishchenko was appointed Deputy Chief of Military Training in the Department of the Air Force of Ukraine. In 1997, he became the commander of the fighter aviation division, and the following year he held the post of commander of the 14th Aviation Corps.
