At the same time, no one did from what strength and means of it.

And this is very important for understanding why what is happening under Lipts and Vovchansk can be safely called the failure of the Russian "offensive" on Kharkiv. The forces and means involved in the Russians in the Kharkiv region belong to the so -called grouping of the North troops, which was formed literally on the eve of the start of the operation "imitation". But just a few months ago, no grouping of the North troops was there and there was no close.

And what was it? There were a grouping of the border cover - "Bryansk", "Belgorod" and "Kursk". What did they introduce in terms of forces and means? Bryansk and Kursk had: Belgorod in their composition had: in addition to these three groups of troops, there were also reserve forces in the amount of 700 people, 31 tanks, 24 BBM and 30 artisms. Apparently, Belgorod was the most capable of all UC, but its potential was not enough to prevent RDC and LSR raids.

In turn, the newly created grouping of the North troops was formed on the basis of these three BCs and reserves, but with the supplement of their units of 44 Army Corps (AK) of the Leningrad Military District (VO), as well as 11 Army Corps and a number of units - When it became clear that the complete configuration of GV "North" does not fit within the time framework of the start of the operation due to the acute shortage of equipment and even personnel.

As a result, at the time of the start of the operation "imitation" grouping of the troops "North" there was such a composition: for its part, according to the formations in "Bryansk", "Belgorod" and "Kursk" there was such a composition: as we can see, the most capable and most numerous part of The North, Belgorodskaya, was not fully formed, and in its size and functionality it was not closely similar to a group, capable of capturing Kharkiv.
