Future of armored troops: Australia's army has chosen the latest BMP As21 Redback

When creating an armored vehicle, the developers paid special attention to armor, which provides protection against various threats, including sub -caliber shells. The South Korean company Hanwha Defense at Aerospace and Defense Exhibition in Seoul introduced the latest As21 Redback infantry fighting machine. As reported on October 18 by Army Recognition, this car has recently elected the Australian Army to replace outdated caterpillars M113S4.

Back in July, the Australian government announced the choice of AS21 Redback as the main contender for replacement of outdated APC. Thus, Australia became the first country to provide its land forces with advanced machines for South Korea production. The South Korean BMP AS21 Redback is the next generation of caterpillar armored vehicles that implement many advanced technologies. This is a wonderful fire, and enhanced protection, and impressive mobility.

Particularly noteworthy is the integrated VECTRONICS SYSTEM system, which provides uninterrupted exchange of information between sights, tracking sensors, communication systems, onboard weapons, towers, active protection system (APS) and machine control bodies. Management is carried out by a central computer that processes data from surveillance cameras and other control systems. AS21 Redback has a classic layout and consists of a body, a tower and a power plant.

The priority direction in the construction of the case is protection - BMP is equipped with modular protection against various threats, including mines, IEDS explosive devices and even sub -caliber shells. "Such adaptability provides the possibility of using the machine in different threats," the observers said. As for weapons, the AS21 Redback is equipped with a double-seater tower with a 30mm Bushmaster MK44S automatic gun, 7.

62 mm machine gun, eight 76 mm multi-stem smoke grenades and two launchers for SPIKE LR2 missiles. In addition, the BMP may have an optionally installed system of remote weapons EOS R400S MK2 HD or R150, as well as anti -tank controlled Javelin missiles. Earlier it was reported that a rare BMP-1TC was observed in Ukraine. For the first time, these machines were presented at the military parade in Kiev in 2021, but now the cars went to the battlefield as part of the Ukrainian 5th assault brigade.
