"She filled school magazines before death." Five stories of Ukrainian educators killed by Russia

Today, there is no accurate data on the number of Ukrainian teachers killed during the war. However, the names of many of them are known. We tell the stories of five teachers from Kherson, Odessa and Vinnitsa, who were victims of Russian aggression. " Former students and parents of children raised by Oksana Tikhovskaya say that she not only gave children knowledge, but also taught them humanity. “It is impossible to convey in words that my daughter is feeling now.

She loved her first teacher, ”says Inna Hrytsyuk, mom of one of Tikhovskaya. On May 21, the Russians fired at the Belozerka of the Kherson region. From the hit of one of the shells, the died teacher Daria Golik. On May 3, she turned 32. Colleagues say that before the death the teacher filled the school magazines. Darya worked as a teacher of Ukrainian and English at local school № 3. Colleagues and acquaintances say that she liked work, and above all - lives communication with children.

“She was very much waiting for children. Darya Oleksandrivna did not like distance learning, it was important for her to see children at a distance of his hand, to feel their mood and energy, ”colleagues say. Dasha was an active resident of the community, participated in the activities of the local business community, and also developed a club of English there.

"Darya was very fond of her native Belozerka, the local nature, the place where she lived, and her work here," says teacher Dmitry, who wished to remain anonymous for safety. On the night of July 1, a Russian winged rocket hit the nine -storey building in the village of Sergiyivka of the Odessa region. 68-year-old Vladimir Cholak lived in this house on the second floor. The physical education teacher was killed, and with him his wife and son.

Vladimir Cholak worked for 22 years at the Sergiyev Lyceum. "He was a physician, but also led a circle of Cossack glory, prepared children for competitions, encouraged students for a healthy lifestyle . . . He organized leisure for migrants . . . He never had to say anything - he took the initiative in his own hands and did everything he needed. Everyone in the lyceum loved the teacher, ”says Galina Arkhipenko, director of the educational institution.

In the lyceum, Vladimir Cholak gathered a volleyball team, trained it. He was also a mentor for young educators. After the start of the full -scale war, the teacher assisted the displaced persons and the Armed Forces and waited for the victory of Ukraine. 64-year-old Olga Shevchenko died on August 15 in the village of Heroeske in Kherson region. She was traveling in a car that exploded on the Russian mini. The car was also her son Taras.

Olga worked as an elementary school teacher at the local lyceum. She is said to be very loved by children, was a capital letter. “Olga Shevchenko gave the children all their time and the whole heart. Each child had an individual approach - through love helped to know the world, ”says a colleague of the deceased who wished to remain anonymous because she was in a temporarily occupied territory. Raisi Zhovtonog was 59 years old.

She died on August 10, when the Russian military was fired at the Novovorontsov community in Kherson region. The army of the Russian Federation then used cassette and artillery shells. Raisa Petrovna hid from shelling, but it did not save the woman-shelter was destroyed . . . Raisa Petrovna worked as a teacher-organizer at a local school. "She remembered me as a model of intelligence, kindness and sincerity," says Tatiana Osadcha, a familiar deceased.

"Raisa Petrovna was a wonderful teacher and a good person," adds another resident of the community Lilia Sachuk. The student of Raisa Zhovtonog Julia (wished not to indicate her name for safety reasons), says that her teacher was a person who devoted herself to the upbringing of children. "Raisa Petrovna taught us to love people, to love our native land, to always try to take one step more, to study one poem more, to make one thing more . . .

We put our first scenes with her, wrote the first scenarios, organized the first evenings and discos . . . She could talk about everything in the world. She knew about our first love. And she was able to pick up words to anesthetize the first "hearty wounds". She was not just a teacher, but a girlfriend, ”Yulia said.
