The new type of fiber differs from the traditional significantly increased strength and resistance to breaks, which is especially important during operation in conditions of complex relief - in dense construction or in the forest. Strengthening Kevlar provides better resistance to mechanical damage, reducing the risk of signal loss during use.
Commenting on this decision of the "miller" observers noted that the strengthening of Kevlar is designed to reduce the number of breakdowns of communication during maneuvers - this is critical for military communication and management. However, the use of enhanced cable leads to an increase in the mass of the block, which makes its use with drones less effective due to reducing the range and combat load.
Experts suggest that the cable was developed faster for ground robotic platforms, where additional grams do not play a key role. In such a configuration, the system can provide a more stable connection and increase the efficiency of combat operations, including guidance and fire. It also does not exclude the possibility of using a cable to create resistant communication lines, less prone to radio interruptions and radio electronic fights.
Experts added similar technologies, previously tested in the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, which emphasizes the relevance of the direction. Against the background of the growing use of radio electronic fight on the front, the enemy is increasingly used by FPV-drones with fiber control, completely protected from HRS. For the first time, such devices were spotted in the Kursk direction, then - under Pokrovsk, in Kupyansk and Siversky directions.
