Hamas attack has put Israel in front of the strongest challenge for the last hal...

Israel's most intricate day. Why did the terrorists attacked the Gaza and what is their goal

Hamas attack has put Israel in front of the strongest challenge for the last half a century. Israeli politician Einat Wilf explains why it happened and tries to understand what to do next. October 7, 2023 - Objectively the hardest day in the history of Israel. The full scale of destruction will become known later.

But we already know that even on the first day of the Egyptian-Syrian attack on Israel on Judgment Day in 1973; Even on the day of the massacre in dolphinarium and the hotel park during the so-called "second intifade"; Even during the massacre of Israeli athletes at the Olympic Games in Munich 1972; And even when Gush-Edio fell before the Jordanian Legion in 1948, Israel did not experience such atrocities by Arabic, and especially Palestinian, an enemy who invaded Israel to kill soldiers, shoot civilians, burn families in their homes, brothers, brothers, brothers hostages, abduct old women, young girls and mothers with children, cripple the dead are all that we saw on October 7.

Why is it going on? The main reason is that the Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular are leading an age -old war for exhaustion against Zionism, against the right of Jews to have a nation on the Earth of Israel. The Arab-Palestinian struggle has never been limited to the goals such as the cessation of Israeli "occupation" or the construction of settlements on the West Bank. She has always been against Zionism.

This is not a condemnation, although I clearly stand on the side of the right of Jews to self -determination. Rather, it is a description of what is happening. Conflict is and has always been between Zionism and Antysionism, between the universal law of the Jewish people to self-determination on their land and Arabic, and especially Palestinian, the idea that Jews do not have such a right in any country, in any territory and in any borders.

Some think that Arab antisionism is fully justified, but it does not change the fact that this is the essence of the conflict. And since this is the essence of the conflict, all ways of ill -treatment of Jews in Israel are refined in the minds of criminals.

Why is this happening of a gase? It is impossible to understand the repetitive cycles of wars resolved against Israel and its inhabitants, not realizing that the vast majority of residents of Gaza consider themselves refugees from Palestine, despite the fact that they were born in gas and have never been displaced as a result of war.

They are the descendants of the Palestinians who were displaced as a result of a completely unnecessary war they waged in 1948 in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent the division of land into an Arab and Jewish state, as this meant that Jews would have their own state. The Jewish state in any territory was anaathem for them, as it remains today.

For these Palestinians, Gaza is not their home, and they are not going to make it their home, so it does not matter that Israel has completely left Gaza sector in 2005. For the Palestinians in the Gaza sector, this newly purchased territory was not possible to build a sovereign prosperous state, but rather a starting platform from which it is possible to "return" (in their understanding) the territory of Israel itself.

But why now? Probably, the possibilities and feelings of Israel's weakness caused by internal differences have played their role. But the choice of time was largely influenced by the growing signs that Israel and Saudi Arabia are on the way to normalize relations. Palestinians, and especially supported by Iran's terrorist group, which manages gas, have a strong interest in preventing everything possible to prevent this opportunity.

Iran is a decisive opponent of Saudi Arabia, and Palestinians consider every peace agreement between the Arab country and Israel, starting with Egypt as a betrayal of the Arabs to support for irreconcilable antisionism. In the end, if the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was once a conflict between Jews and Palestinians in the territory between the River and the Sea, then this conflict ended in April 1948, shortly before the British departure and their mandate.

It then developed into the Arab-Israeli conflict, when several Arab armies invaded the territory to prevent the creation of a Jewish state. Without the support of tens of millions, and later hundreds of millions of Arabs, which also brought the support of the Islamic, Soviet world and developing world, the Palestinians would not be able to wage their war against Jewish self -determination for many decades.

And now what? Almost all in Israel and many worldwide believe that an attack of such a scale and cruelty cannot lead to the usual retribution that characterized wars in gas after the departure of Israel. But can Israel do something that really puts an end to the age -old struggle of Palestinians against Zionism? Egypt continues to celebrate the "October War" of the Judicial Day as a victory due to the destruction that Israel has experienced, despite the fact that Israel eventually won.
