According to journalists, the fate of judges will now be decided by a commission...

The SCCS released the chairman of the Ignatov commission, which the special services were exposed as a Russian citizen: what is known

According to journalists, the fate of judges will now be decided by a commission, which consists of less than half, which is contrary to European standards. The Chairman of the High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine (SCCS) Roman Ignatov, whom the SBU and the External Intelligence Service (SZR) exposed the presence of Russian citizenship, decided to make the powers of a member of the commission and resign. This was reported on March 25 by the Law and Business.

On Wednesday, March 27, the SCCS approved the resignation of Roman Ignatov, writes Law and Business. At the same time, the publication emphasizes that in connection with the dismissal of Ignatov, who was one of 8 representatives of the Judicial Corps within the commission, the issue of the powers of the commission itself may arise.

"After all, the fate of a judicial career will be decided by a body, which consists of less than half, which contradicts European recommendations on the independence of the judiciary," - says "Law and Business". As it became known to another publication-"Forensic Newspaper", this decision Ignatov became unexpected for other members of the commission, and for all their attempts to find out why he made such a decision, he answered the refusal.

At the same time, Ignatov insisted that the issue of his resignation was considered at a plenary session, which was scheduled for Wednesday, March 27. The members of the CCCS seem to discuss different versions of such a decision of the chairman. Back in December 2023, the SBU and the SZR sent a letter to the SCCS that the chairman of the commission Roman Ignatov, according to special services, has dual citizenship - Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

According to the special services, the fact of the presence of a passport of a Russian citizen in Ignatov proves his biography data: at the same time, as previously reported "Law and Business", in February 2024 the Working Group of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, created in connection with the fact What Ignatov can continue to head the commission, since it was not possible to determine the presence of Russian citizenship accurately.

In addition, the SCCS also discusses another version of Ignatov's resignation - pre -trial investigation of the DBR in a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (State betrayal committed in martial law). It is associated with the trip of the Chairman of the commission in 2014 to the occupied Lugansk, where his mother lives and where he had previously worked.

According to the publication, Ignatov was detained by representatives of the so -called "LNR", but soon he was released with the help of a friend who knew well "high -ranking persons" of this separatist formation. The publication notes that it is possible that, despite his resignation from the post of chairman of the SCCS because of the presence of Russian citizenship, Ignatov may return to the position of judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal.

Law and Business writes another member of the SCCS, which may also have Russian citizenship, - Sergei Chumak. These conclusions were made based on the biographical data of the Chumak. It is said that Serhiy Chumak during the adoption of the already mentioned law of the Russian Federation in 1992 on citizenship studied at the Rostov State University and underwent industrial practice. In addition, the first place of his work is the bodies of the prosecutor's office of Donetsk region - since 1997.

There is no information that Chumak has been doing for almost a year. The publication suggests that he could hide the fact of work in law enforcement or justice bodies of the Russian Federation. We will remind, Focus wrote that two Russian billionairers Andrey Baronov and Ratmir Timashev abandoned Russian citizenship. In addition, Russian billionaire Vasily Anisimov, a former license owner for a vodka brand "Putinka" and a Coalco real estate holding, is now a citizen of Croatia.
