For 16 years of attempts of the Russian Federation was able to sell its SU-57: who could buy fighters

For many years, the Russian Federation has tried to sell planes at least to someone. A number of Middle East and Africa considered potential buyers of the SU-57. CEO of "Rozoboronexport" Alexander Mikheev stated that the first contracts for the supply of export version of the Russian Su-57e fighter have already been signed. According to him, this is due to the "high interest" in this combat vehicle. This was reported on November 14 by Russian media.

"The PTS system (military-technical cooperation system. -Ed. , but with which countries or companies Mikheev did not specify agreements. This announcement, as noted by Defense Express, has become unexpected, especially against the background of reducing traditional Russian weapons markets. The fact is that Su-57 was actively demonstrated at Airshow China's air show in Zhuhai, but the Chinese audience's reaction was skeptical, emphasizing the problems with the competitiveness of this model.

Analysts recalled that Russia's attempts to sell SU-57 began in 2008. The first potential contract for the development of a fighting machine was signed with the Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to jointly create the FGFA aircraft. However, since then, the project has not led to real supply - in 2024, India decided to develop its fifth -generation fighter without the participation of the Russian side.

In the future, potential buyers of the SU-57 were considered by Turkey, Vietnam, united Arab Emirates, Iraq and Algeria. Moreover, Algeria allegedly ordered 14 fighters, but there was no official confirmation of this Agreement. Moreover, in September 2024 there was information that Algeria made a choice in favor of the Su-35, which also indicates the unpredictability of orders for Russian planes in a changing market.

Viewers believe that today the main potential clients of the SU-57 for Russia can be Iran and DPRK, which are interested in modernizing their aviation park. Tehran, who has already received the Su-35 and license for their production, will probably also consider SU-57 as the next step in partnership with Russia. Earlier it was reported that the declared "trump card" of Russian fighters Su-57 is stels technology.
