Vote under missiles: if there is political will, elections in Ukraine will hold - media

According to journalists, changes in the legislation on martial law will be required, and you will need to stipulate in detail how to vote under shelling. And provide conditions for millions of Ukrainians abroad. Despite the fact that wartime does not involve the election, if the political will will be and approved the relevant changes in the legislation, the Central Election Commission will have to take such a step. This was stated by the CEC representative in the Air Force comment.

According to the interlocutor of the media, who wished not to name his name because of the sensitivity of the issue, the preparation for the elections is not yet carried out. "The question is very sensitive and annoying, but now there is nothing specific - some conversations," the CEC representative said. According to him, in addition to changes in the legislation on martial law, it is also necessary to prescribe in detail how to vote under missiles, shelling and other challenges of war.

"I do not imagine how to do it all," he explained. The CEC representative noted that the election would need to resuscitate the voter register, since due to the threat of security, his work was suspended - the list has not been updated for a long time. Another difficulty is that a significant number of Ukrainians are abroad. The legislation provides for will only in diplomatic institutions, but there are not enough diplomatic institutions to vote for citizens who are abroad at least seven million.

Hundreds of consulates and embassies can be discovered as an alternative. Recall that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine explained whether elections during the war were possible. According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, there is no prohibition in the Constitution, but there is a law that prohibits elections for martial law. It was also reported that Ukraine will not be able to hold an election after victory.
