The leaders of the IAEA urge the military to leave the Zaporozhye NPP - the media

The IAEA emphasizes the need to create a safety area around the object. Russian occupation and constant shelling creates the risk of a large nuclear catastrophe for the NPP. The Council of Heads of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) calls on Russian invaders to leave the Zaporizhzhya NPP (ZPP) and all Ukrainian nuclear facilities. This is stated in the project of the resolution prepared by representatives of Poland and Canada on the eve of the UN Nuclear Security meeting.

The document was published by Reuters. The project will be a continuation of the resolution after the emergency meeting of the Council in March. Russia and China opposed it. As in March, diplomats stated that the purpose of the resolution was to prove the diplomatic isolation of the Russian Federation and pressure on it. Russia should stop the occupation of the ZPP. The Council of Managers condemned the permanent stay of the invaders and staff of Rossa at the nuclear power plant.

IAEA experts emphasize that occupation and shelling create a risk of catastrophic consequences, including a major nuclear accident. Russia is advised to stop any action at the Zaporozhye NPP and other nuclear facilities in Ukraine so that the competent authorities resume full control over them. The IAEA Board emphasizes the recent closure of the head of Raphael Grossi's head before creating a nuclear security zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Petro Kotin's chairman Petro Kotin had previously spoke of a desperation at the Zaporozhye NPP through shelling. Engineers use a single reactor that operates critically important systems. The fighting near the ZPP interfere with the supply of fuel. Russian President Vladimir Putin has already recognized the stay of Rosgvardia fighters in the territory of ZPE. The Russian military, he said, does not receive orders to fire a nuclear object.
