The radar is funded by the expense of 4 million euros from the EU Restoration and Restoration Fund. This initiative is part of a large -scale strategy for creating a common observation network in the Baltic States and the EU. Estonia strengthens its air defense capabilities with the help of a radar installation on the island of Kiyumaa.

This was reported on the website of the Center for Defense Investment Estonia (Riigi KaitseinveSteeringute Keskus), which heads this project in cooperation with the Mapri Ehitus Oü. It is reported that this is an important step in the modernization of observation infrastructure. The radar funded by the expense of 4 million euros from the European Union's restoration and sustainability fund is designed to find air activity outside the borders of Estonia.

This initiative is part of a large -scale strategy for creating a common observation network in the Baltic States and European Allies. The project manager Stephen Linkov emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative. He stated that the establishment of new radars in the northeast and northwestern regions will improve the monitoring of airspace and would respond faster to potential threats.

The radar in the area of Kip with its possibilities of long detection will play an important role in counteracting the potential invasion of the airspace. The radar will also be used in civilian operations. Major Tinis Parn, commander of the Air Force, emphasized the role of this system in improving flight safety and maintaining rescue operations at sea. Its strategic location and expanded detection range will increase situational awareness for both military and civil measures.
