The Moldovan oligarch has founded cryptocurrency for the Russian Federation: it was sold for more than $ 9 billion

To spread: Token A7A5 was created to promote financial flows bypassing sanctions against Russia. According to FT, it was launched by the oligarch-fugitive and the bank of the defense sector of the Russian Federation, and in four months of cryptocurrency brought the exchanges about $ 9. 3 billion. The token A7A5 is called the first steiblcoin tied to the ruble. He was officially launched in Kyrgyzstan in February, as reported on June 25 at The Financial Times.

Only A7A5, rubles and stablcoin, is trading on the recently founded Grinex exchange. The wallet related to it has new tokens worth $ 9. 3 billion. Stablcoin stated that it is provided with ruble deposits in the Moscow "Promsvyazbank", against which US, UK and EU sanctions were imposed through the war in Ukraine.

"The rapid growth of the coin is clear: there are now 12 billion tokens in circulation, which is equivalent to $ 156 million, and it is intensively used by a relatively small group of users whose daily transfers usually several times more than this volume," the publication said. Also A7A5, according to CIR researchers, is associated with Moscow's attempts to use cryptocurrency to finance political influence abroad.

The company, which stood in the creation of cryptocurrency, is owned by the Moldovan businessman Ilan Share, who in 2019 fled from house arrest after being caught on the largest bank fraud in the history of the country. The fugitive oligarch moved to Moscow and received a Russian passport. Last year, Moldova's police accused him of a large -scale bribery operation, but he denied everything. Analysts have found that several domains that were then used have a joint IP address with A7 and A7A5 sites.

The developers have officially stated that they worked with the technical team A7 "early stage", but due to various vision of the development strategy allegedly terminated this cooperation. However, the new cryptocurrency appeared against the backdrop of increased check -ups of Russia -related transactions. Senior researcher Cir Eliza Thomas reported that businessmen and officials in the Russian Federation have long been talking about the use of cryptocurrency in order to bypass the restriction.

The leader of the project A7A5 Leonid Shumakov acknowledged that Kyrgyzstan was elected because it is not so much subject to sanctions and accordingly "greatly helps" to cope with pressure on the Russian Federation. Russians can buy tokens on TRON or Ethereum blockchains, and then use to purchase USDT from Tether. In this way, they can withdraw money in any country and currency.

Shumakov did not deny that the goal of A7A5 - to "give people the opportunity to use it as a bridge for a safe transition" to USDT, and many current owners of token, probably from Russia. It is argued that the "Promsvyazbank" automatically "freeze" the same amount that every Russian invests in this cryptocurrency, thus protecting customers. This is allegedly monitored by an independent auditor from Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, in March, US law enforcement agencies eliminated the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Russia Grantex. Tether went to meet and froze USDT for $ 23 million stored on Garantex wallets. For Russian officials, this emphasized that you need to create your own steiblcoin. A few days before the operation, as Global Ledger researchers, a large amount of money stored in USDT on Garantex, was transferred to A7A5. On the newly created Grinex exchange, token of about $ 29 million appeared.

Analysts suspect that GRINEX is Garantex. However, the exchange is convinced that it is an independent platform, and all statements about "rebranding" are called speculative. The GRINEX representative stated that the company "took advantage of market capabilities" and received part of the client base of the liquidated exchange, "committing only to users with a transparent history.

" GRINEX stated that against the background of more frequent blocks by Tether "Russian -speaking clients" requires a reliable alternative to USDT. On the exchange, they added that sanctions and do not carry out transactions with those against whom the restrictions are imposed. The publication calculations were challenged there. It is noted that the connection of entities that actively invest in A7A5 cannot be confirmed with Russia.

But transactions occur almost always on weekdays and often in working hours for Moscow. In May, A7 was added to the British sanction list. Last week, Shar said that A7 was creating a larger and "rather invulnerable" new payment system. CIR analysts found an announcement of work for Chinese -speaking professionals, energy experts and accountants in the UAE, Kyrgyzstan and temporarily occupied by the territories of Ukraine.

It is reported that last year the fugitive oligarch participated in the negotiations with the Kermet Bank in Kyrgyzstan to "create a hub to avoid sanctions so that Russia could pay imports and receive export payments. " In January, the United States imposed sanctions on this bank. Recall that in Moldova, Ilana Shore was sentenced to 15 years in prison, appointing the confiscation of his property. He was approved in absentia, but it was reported that Chisinau would insist on extradition.
