Russian agents can spy on the training of the Armed Forces in Britain - The Times

The British military was warned that Russia had attracted spies to track the Ukrainian military during their exercises abroad and obtain intelligence information. The British soldiers have been warned about possible espionage by Russian agents who use drones to collect intelligence information on training of the Ukrainian military. About it reports The Times with reference to the instructions that were spread among the UK soldiers.

The publication writes that Russian intelligence services have shown interest in the special military operation "Interflex", during which 34,000 Ukrainian soldiers train. Not only did the Russian agents fly on drones over the British military bases, but also turned to army instructors via the Internet and personally to get information. In response to these threats, the UK Ministry of Defense has taken serious and reliable measures to protect military facilities and staff.

However, the British military does not rule out the real threat of espionage and subversive activities related to the preparation of Ukrainian fighters in Britain. Vulnerable purposes are training grounds, airplane air and seaports, key locations and logistics objects. Published in October last year, a "Field Army Guide" for the first time tells detail about the attempts of Russians to penetrate British military support of Ukraine.

It stated that Russian intelligence services resort to various methods, including the use of UAVs, mobile and foot observation, physical and virtual approaches to instructors, as well as interest from investigative journalists. The document states that the military who prepare Ukrainian soldiers should be attentive to the possible threats of espionage by the Russian Federation.

Although there is still evidence of the use of drones for espionage in training, the sources of The Times in the Ministry of Defense of Britain, but the manual was written to warn of risks. "The preparation of the Armed Forces remains the subject of considerable intelligence interest for hostile external intelligence and national press services," journalists say. The British army uses landfills across the country to prepare Ukrainian soldiers.

Most Ukrainians undergo a basic 35-day course, but some more experienced military have specialized training. Similar cases of espionage have been recorded in other European countries. In Germany, unknown drones were monitored during Ukrainian soldiers, and 18 people were arrested in Poland on suspicion of sabotage planning in favor of Russia and Belarus. Earlier it was reported that Hungary allowed the Russians and Belarusians to enter the EU territory without inspections.
