Separately from Prigogine: in ISW told why Putin wants to keep Wagner PVC

According to American analysts, despite the statement of the Russian leader that there are no private military companies in the Russian Federation, it still needs such formations. Volodymyr Putin, President of Russia, wants to preserve the private military company "Wagner" as a military force, but separately from its founder Yevgeny Prigogine. This conclusion was reached by analysts of the American Institute for War Study (ISW) in its report, published on July 14.

Analysts say that Putin has declared his intention to maintain Wagner groups in a single syllable, preventing his separation. However, he seeks to remove Yevgeny Prigogine from the leadership of this group and his strength. The direct question about Wagner's future as a military formation, Putin continues to say that there are no private military companies in Russia, which is doubtful.

"This reaffirms the previous ISW assessment that the Kremlin seeks to preserve Wagner as a cohesive combat force, separating it from Prigogine," the report said. Putin confirmed that on June 29 he met with Prigogin and 35 Wagner commanders. He suggested that Wagner fighters were able to serve the commander with the gray call sign, who was managed by the Wagner group in the last 16 months. Under the mentioned call sign is known one of the key commanders of the Wagner PEC Andriy Troshev.

Through it, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation interacted with the PEC. Analysts also point out that the Belarussian government and independent sources confirmed on July 14, the arrival of instructors from the Wagner group, which were previously in Africa, to training grounds in Belarus.

We will remind, on June 15 the media wrote that the head of PEC "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigogin deliberately allowed the publication of the picture, on which he sits in underwear on the bed. According to journalists, in this way, Prigogine tried to show that he not only knew the hardships and wanderings of the war from afar, but also separated them.
