Blackhillock is developed in two stages: the first 200 MWh is already launched, and an additional 100 MW plan to launch in 2026. After the total capacity of the object will be 300 MW/600 MWh. The object is designed to reduce the network overload caused by sea winds such as Viking (443 MW), Moray East (950 MW) and Beatrice (588 MW). By optimizing the use of energy and reducing the contractions, the object will play a crucial role in maximizing the production of pure energy.
Blackhillock is the world's first energy storage facility to provide stability to the National Energy System Operator (Neso). Traditional fossil fuel power plants naturally provide major stabilizing factors, such as short circuit levels, reactive power and inertia, within their normal operation. However, renewable energy sources do not offer these stability characteristics. The advanced storage system from Zenobē fills this gap, providing stable and stable power supply.
The BLACKHILOC Battery Battery System is supported by Wärtsilä technologies, which supplies its Quantum energy storage system, GEMS digital power platform and SMA inverters to guarantee high quality and stability of electricity. Zenobē estimates that the project will allow consumers to save £ 172 million ($ 218. 7 million) over the next 15 years. Earlier, we wrote that an endless, powerful source of energy was found, but it is difficult to generate.
