Support for Ukraine's European integration and increased sanctions pressure on Russia: a meeting with the Irish delegation took place in the President's Office

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Brusylo held a meeting with the delegation of Ireland, led by Gerard Kion, Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Ihor Brusylo thanked Ireland for its consistent support to Ukraine, in particular for the recent decision to allocate over 35 million euros in humanitarian aid.

The funds will be directed to the construction of school shelters and a rehabilitation center, as well as to the reform of school meals.    The deputy head of the President's Office informed in detail about the consequences of Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of our country and emphasized that it is important to increase Ukraine's ability to counter these attacks and restore critical infrastructure as soon as possible.

The representatives of Ireland assured that they are ready to strengthen the energy sustainability of our country. Separately, there was talk of Ireland's support for Ukraine on the way to membership in the European Union. Ihor Brusylo emphasized that it is important to open the first negotiating cluster simultaneously for Ukraine and Moldova. "Ireland's presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2026 opens up new opportunities for speeding up the negotiation process.
