Unmanned Ship Hunter: How Magura V5 expelled the Russian fleet from the Black Sea

To spread: the Ukrainian sea drone is able to act hidden and strike hostile ships where they feel in relative security. Ukraine is actively developing unmanned maritime systems that play an important role in modern military conflicts. Magura V5, the sea drone, which has already caused serious losses, became one of the most fragile new generation tools. The focus has collected information about the technical characteristics, features and combat use of the sea drone.

Magura V5 (Maritime Autonomous Guard Unmanned Robotic Apparatus) was created at the request of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) to perform attacking and intelligence operations. It is a compact, maneuverable and high -speed marine drone, capable of acting secretly and strikes on enemy ships where they feel in relative security. The device is able to develop speeds up to 80 km/h, which makes it one of the fastest unmanned marine systems in the world.

Equipped with a coat fighting unit of up to 300 kg, it can affect even large surface goals. The main advantage of Magura V5 is a combination of low radar visibility and high maneuverability. Its housing is made taking into account hydrodynamic features, which allows the drone to go on a maximum low profile, evading the detection. Unlike traditional torpedoes or missiles, marine drones are attacked from the surface of the water using an element of surprise.
