Part of the Russians that is inhabited in occupied regions can stay in Ukraine after the war

Some of those citizens of the Russian Federation, whom Moscow moves today to the conquered territories, may not want or not to leave after being de -occupation. Whether they can stay in Ukraine even after the war depends on many factors. Andriy Yakovlev, lawyer and expert of the media initiative for human rights, believes that the Russian authorities are moving to the occupied territories of Ukraine of Ukrainian citizens who have certain professions.

First of all, it is about teachers, representatives of law enforcement agencies, judges, builders and more. But not all of these people will want or be able to leave after Ukraine's de -occupation. Focus writes about it in the article "The Russian Federation is inhabited by the occupied regions. Russia, who purposefully replaces local residents by their own citizens, violates the International Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Population during the War.

Yakovlev is convinced that those people who, from 2014 to today, are settled in the occupied territories of Ukraine, can also be considered as accomplices of this war crime. But in each case the guilt of the person should be proved individually. However, in Ukraine, after the end of the war, there will be such a resource to investigate each case in detail and to conduct lawsuits, unless it is a matter of frank propaganda and representatives of the occupying power.

The decision on the eviction of Russian citizens from the territory of Ukraine should also be made against each individual, because mass deportation will contradict the rules of international law. As a result, some Russians who will avoid punishment will just want to stay in the Ukrainian territories. And first of all, it is about those who have managed to get a family with a local resident during the occupation years, to give birth to a child, to buy real estate.

"Let's take a person who has been living in the occupied Ukrainian region for a long time, she has some social connections in this territory. I have been living here so long ago, why do I have been deported? " Ukraine will have mechanisms of migration policy through which it is possible to press on Russian citizens, which will not apply for residence permission or Ukrainian citizenship, adds Yakovlev.

Yes, official bodies can limit for Russians or establish special conditions for providing administrative, educational and medical services. It will force illegal migrants from the aggressor country to decide on the territory of Ukraine. Recall that focus also told what goals Ukraine would impress on the eve of Crimea's de-occupation. There are about two dozen objects in Crimea that are important as military bases or logistics centers, potential targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
