The Defense Ministry purchased 1.4 billion poor quality armor for the Armed Forces: several officials will be tried

According to the Attorney General's office, the persons involved did not check the quality of purchased bulletproof vests. It turned out that they did not meet state and military standards and cannot properly protect Ukrainian servicemen. Several officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine can go for lattice due to the purchase of substandard ammunition for the military for UAH 1. 4 billion. The court was sent to the court on the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Head of the Department of Public Procurement and the supply of material resources of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Head of the Central Quality Control Department. They are accused of shaking property and obstruction of the legitimate activity of the Armed Forces and other military formations.

It is noted that the above officials organized the purchase of substandard bulletproof vests for budgetary funds. In 2022, they with violations concluded a contract for the purchase of personal protective equipment. Ammunition was purchased at inflated prices provided that the subscription is fully subscribed. The expolists did not control the quality of products and accepted it without checking and transferred poor quality products to the Armed Forces military warehouses.

Expertise found that purchased bulletproof vests did not meet the state and military standards, technical requirements for the purchase of bulletproof vests of different types and cannot properly protect Ukrainian servicemen. Due to the actions of officials, individual units of the Armed Forces were not properly completed with personal protective equipment in the amount of more than UAH 1. 4 billion.
