Russian air defense was a terrible obstacle: the analyst explained how Ukraine strikes the Russian Federation

According to the ISW analyst George Barros, Russia's air defense is now "stretched", which opens new opportunities for Ukraine. Ukraine causes unusually distant blows to the territory of the Russian Federation because the Russian air defense system is too stretched. About it writes Business Insider with reference to the statement of the military analyst "Institute of War" George Barros.

According to him, many Ukrainian drones could not overcome the line on which Russian air defense was called to stop them. "We many times watched the Ukrainians bypassed Russian air defense and then managed aircraft," he said. According to him, Russian air defense should be easily destroyed. The Russian air defense at the beginning of a full -scale invasion was a terrible obstacle for Ukraine. Ukrainian planes and rockets were beaten, preventing the air space from crossing.

Barros also distinguishes Ukraine's air defense, which has proven its reliability and allows you to hold back much larger attacks on Russian PKS. Aviation experts call it an outstanding achievement, given the disadvantageous situation of Ukraine in the air. In such circumstances, the aircraft of both sides of the war are mostly limited by their own territory. According to Barros, Russia's defense is "stretched", which opens new opportunities for Ukraine.

Russia "neglected the protection of territories" that are not in close proximity to Ukraine. Then, since the spring of 2024, the Armed Forces could purposefully undergo Russian defense. Ukraine has damaged or destroyed many Russian air defense systems and has now aimed at some defense systems that have not been reached before. The Russian leadership has to think about how to protect them. Barros said that Russia has placed air defense agents to protect areas that are at risk of air.

Having overcome these obstacles, Ukraine will be able to penetrate into the area within Russia, which is not protected enough. As an example, he cited a blow in Tatarstan, more than 1000 km from the border with Ukraine. According to experts, a light -motor aircraft, recycled for remote control, was used during the April blow.
