Ukraine will receive previously unknown Cerber air defense systems: what weapons can be reported

Commenting on the news, Ukrainian experts noted that the CERBER air defense system may be a product based on the anti-aircraft high-precision 70mm FZ275 LGR rocket with a semi-active laser pointing, developed by the Belgian company Thales Belgium. Weapons are designed to defeat both terrestrial and air purposes, including drones, and can be used from different platforms: helicopters, aircraft, ground launchers and even unmanned combat modules.

Experts say that thanks to a unified 70 mm caliber, this rocket can be used with Vampire systems used by Ukraine's defense forces for intercepting Russian UAVs. The FZ275 LGR is positioned as the lightest and far-looking 70mm missiles in its class. Its length is 1. 8 m, the caliber is 70 mm (2. 75 inches), the weight is about 12. 7 kg, of which 4. 1 kg falls on the combat part.

The rocket has an advanced powder charge, reduced pollution during firing, and control is provided by four complex aerodynamic steering wheels. According to Forces Operations Blog, the rocket has a radius of up to 3000 meters and is equipped with an FZ123 warhead with 6500 lesions that create a 9 -meter fragments of fragments for air target.

Brief characteristics of weapons in this way, based on the assumption of Ukrainian observers, the CERBER system will complement the arsenal of Ukrainian air defense complexes of the small radius of action intended for the destruction of enemy UAVs and other air purposes. Recall that in November 2024, Ukraine signed a memorandum with Thales Belgium on the joint production of missiles, which will be equipped with a warhead, specially designed for effective counteraction to drones.
