According to the German media, Leopard 2 has limited efficiency in the current conditions of war, especially as a result of vulnerability to drones and complexity of service. The main problem is a limited number of tanks, which makes each unit critical.

German experts recognize that tanks were developed by engineers without combat experience, which led to excessive complication of the design. Compared to the older models of the 1960s, it is more efficient on the battlefield, though less protected.
Similar problems with logistics and maintenance have also manifested with Abrams and Challenger 2 tanks that Ukraine received from the US, Australia and the United Kingdom. Fuel costs, spare parts deficiency and high sensitivity to damage make it impossible to use them.
