Subscribe not to miss the latest and most intrusive news from the world of science! SpaceX shared stunning photos that were signed simply: Starship in space. One of these photos was taken shortly after the upper stage of the rocket went out into space. Another photo was taken immediately after the upper degree is separated from the accelerator. This photo shows how Super Heavy falls down against Earth.
SpaceX first used twice and the same accelerator for Starship test flights, last time it was used in January this year during the seventh test of a huge rocket. During this and the eighth test, the lower degree of Super Heavy successfully turned back after launch, and "caught" it with the help of special manipulators of the starting tower.
But during the last Starship flight, the Super Heavy accelerator collapsed about 6 minutes after starting when returning to the ground, and therefore it was flooded in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The upper stage of the Starship rocket after reaching the space began to turn back, but also collapsed in parts during the flight and could not carry out a soft landing off the coast of Australia as planned.
It happened about 46 minutes after starting and the cause is probably a fuel leak, as reported in SpaceX. The fragments of the spacecraft fell into the waters of the Indian Ocean. The largest and most powerful rockets in the world of Starship should help humanity colonize Mars, although it is also planned to be used for missions for the moon and in a deeper space. SpaceX is planning to continue the Starship's test flights soon so that this megaroade can be put into operation.
