"Consider C plan": Ukraine does not handle the army funding on its own

The difficult situation with the financing of the Armed Forces, as well as the "projectile famine" happened because the event did not send a package of financial assistance to Ukraine, which was to be received in January. Currently, the country's military-political leadership is considering options for obtaining additional budget support from G7 countries, such as Canada and Japan. Ukraine has practically exhausted its internal opportunities to finance a capable army.

This was stated by the head of the VRU Committee on Roksolana Podlas budget, reports The Financial Times. "Western delay is forcing Ukraine to consider not only plan B, but also S. Plan we have almost exhausted our capabilities - all internal resources go to financing the army," Podlas said. The official said that plan A assumed that the assistance of the event for Ukraine would start coming in January 2024.

The Financial Times writes in its material that Ukraine is allocating a large part of its budget for defense, but its internal revenues do not cover all expenses, so the country depends on international assistance and is forced to reduce non -military expenditures. The growing budget deficit is caused by the expected arrival of a large number of recruits and the need for their maintenance and training.

Ukraine's leaders consider obtaining additional budget support from G7 countries, such as Canada and Japan. They are also looking for ways to reduce non -military costs and increase taxes. However, delays in providing assistance from European countries, especially from Hungary, mean that Kiev is forced to consider alternative plans. Even President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly warned that lack of funding from the United States could weaken the position of Kiev on the battlefield.

He called on the US Congress to accelerate the assistance process. However, as the media notes, the chances of this are not great, since the presidential candidate from the Republican Party Donald Trump opposes Ukraine's financing. Ukrainian policies also consider different options for reducing the budget deficit, including reducing costs, privatization and increased taxes.

They also investigate the possibility of introducing "reserve systems" that allow men to pay a contribution to avoid conscription. In addition to financial problems, Ukraine also faces a shortage of ammunition, which affects its combat capability. Russian troops are moving to the East of Ukraine, while the Ukrainian army is limited in the power of fire due to lack of ammunition. This creates the need for urgent purchase of ammunition for Ukraine by European countries.

We will remind, earlier we wrote that in Ukraine the time required to obtain the required number of artillery shells, missiles, armored vehicles and other weapons. Therefore, the event should be mobilized so that the country does not lose the territory. We also reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that Europe should do to restore peace.
