Nail tactics: How the Armed Forces uses UAV in ambushes against wheel equipment (video)

To extend: units of the 14th Separate Guards Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of special purpose of the "Vostok" group began to use ambush tactics using drones. The enemy applies against Ukrainian wheel equipment spike, handicraft production. The corresponding video was posted on April 16 in one of the Russian Telegram channels. The tactics involves the use of bombard drones to discharge special spikes on the road surface, which moves the equipment.

Drivers, moving at high speed, do not have time to notice the obstacle, resulting in tire punctures and vehicles lose their stroke or sharply reduce speed. After stopping on them, they strike FPV-aroma. This method does not pose a threat to armored vehicles equipped with a centralized tire pump system or Run-Flat inserts that allow you to continue movement even with complete pressure loss. However, light wheel equipment without these systems becomes a vulnerable target in the open terrain.

It should be noted that this type of weapon has been known since ancient times. Archaeologists found metal spiders with four pointed ends, which were arranged so that in any position one thorn was always directed upwards. Experts gave a variety of weapons, including "garlic", Caltrap or Tribulus (in the Latin version), which used Roman legions. These spikes were scattered in the path of moving cavalry or troops.

Horses and soldiers who came to such traps received serious damage, which violated the system and slowed down the enemy's advancement. Interesting fact: such devices were used not only in ancient Rome, but also in the Middle Ages, as well as even in the XX century - in a changed form. Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation changed tactics in the south of Ukraine.
