The EU has agreed ninth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation - Reuters

According to sources of journalists, new restrictions will be finalized by noon on December 16. Formalization requires the so -called written procedure. On Thursday, December 15, the governments of the European Union agreed the 9th Package of Sanctions against Russia in connection with a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine. About it reports Reuters with reference to sources in diplomatic circles.

The package will be revised by noon the next day, December 16, because they are called "written procedure" in the EU. "The sanctions have been agreed. The written procedure is until noon of tomorrow," one of the European diplomats said. At the same time, EU countries such as Poland and Lithuania have tried to block this decision because of fears that it could be in the hand of Russian oligarchs related to fertilizer business.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielus Landsbergis said Russian oligarchs can use loopholes to avoid restrictions. First of all, the reconciliation of new sanctions was paused because of the disputes about whether the EU should facilitate the export of Russian fertilizers in European ports, even though the factories produced by the oligarchs belong to the plants.
