"They are dead": Ukraine dealt with Russian invaders instead of Estonia - the Foreign Minister

According to the head of the profile ministry of Margus Tsakhkn, only a few years ago 120 thousand soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were on the border with Estonia and were ready to make any moment the invasion, but soon they disappeared and entered the territory of Ukraine. Ukraine was destroyed by the troops of the Russian Federation, which previously threatened the integrity of Estonia.

This was stated by the Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkn, reports "Ukrinform" on October 19. According to him, Tallinn now spends about 1% of his GDP to help Kiev, which has encountered Russian aggression and is forced to fight for its independence. Moreover, the country is ready to do a lot more, because it was Ukraine who took over the burden in the form of restraining the enemy and protecting the whole of Europe.

"The main reason for this support, which is divided by up to 90% of our population, is the understanding that Ukrainians are actually fighting for us now-and instead of us. When I was the Minister of Defense in 2016-2017, we constantly saw 120,000 soldiers on the Russian side of the border . They were ready for action within 24 hours, the question was only in the way Putin would give such an order or not, " - said Margus Tsakhkn.

Separately, the Foreign Minister stressed that Tallinn was ready for such a turn of events and was not afraid, but later the threat to the country has passed, as all troops were sent to the Ukrainian borders and most of them no longer exist today. "They are dead. Instead of us, Ukrainians have lost them.

And this is just a small example why we understand exactly: instead of having aggression or military conflict between Russia and NATO members in our region, the most effective and even, let us say the cruel, cheapest path, the cheapest path To get rid of Russia's aggression, it is our support of Ukraine. Because Ukraine is at war with this, " - continued the Estonian diplomat.
