Drones next to AK-47: why the largest armed concern of the Russian Federation began to produce optic fiber UAV

To spread: The fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine show fields covered with spider -fiber drones that fly on one side of the front to the other. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian authorities are tightening the antitrone nets of the highways and streets of settlements, and the distance at which the fiber optic UAVs reached 20 km. The Kalashnikov concern of the Russian Federation specializes in small arms, for example, a well-known AK-47.

What new products did the Russian weapons reorient and what are the characteristics of these devices? Both sides of the current war in Ukraine are increasingly using fiber -optic drones, which are directly related to the operator and invulnerable to the HRS.

Kalashnikov concern, headed by the legendary Soviet weapons designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, who became famous all over the world through the creation of AK-47 machine, will continue to produce small arms for the Russian army and the export market. But this state -owned weapon manufacturer has already mastered other platforms, primarily unmanned aviation systems.

The Russian company currently supplies an advanced drone "Quasmachta" with the possibility of "20-day flight" to support the so-called special Kremlin military operation in Ukraine. Focus has translated the review of journalist Peter Suchyu, who specializes in military equipment and defense issues. Review "Why the most famous Russian weapons manufacturer now produces fiber-optic drones" appeared on the National Interest portal.

Unlike other drones, which only a few hours flying, the quasilmachta reconnaissance UAVs, according to reports, can remain in the air for up to 500 hours. "As a rule, there is no need for such continuous work. Usually it works for 24 hours. That is, it sorts in the air, then the operator descends it to check whether everything is in order, whether it is in order to replace it with a diesel generator or carry out other maintenance," - said on Monday the State Information Agency of the TASS. Rokees.

According to Rokeae, the drone works continuously, and its power and data is transmitted through the ground cable. Although the cable reduces the range of UAVs, the intelligence tracker is able to control the perimeter for a long time. In addition, drone can transmit video signal online through optical and infrared ranges to land terminals. In addition to Quasmacht, Kalashnikov's concern also promotes the capabilities of his drone "Prince Vandal Novgorod" (KVN).

This fiber drone was first applied last summer in the Kursk region. "Drones, if you talk about KVN, is a proven product," explained Alan Lushnikov, CEO of Kalashnikov. "There is a very strong team, they have organized and set up production before our arrival. We have a good relationship with them, we will realize a few more in common. Known under the name "Prince Vandal", a drone overlooking the first person (FPV) was used as a barrel ammunition (or "Dron-Kamikadze") on the battlefield in Ukraine.

It is equipped with a camera, a amount of load and an optical cable coil a few kilometers. The drone was used for the task of struck on Ukrainian defense lines, including advanced positions and vehicles. There is information that KVN is based on Skywalker Chinese drone. This reaffirms that Beijing helped Moscow in the development of her UAV platforms. Fiber drones are invulnerable to the HR, because they do not use radio waves - the usual method of communication between drones and their operators.

Their cable can transmit data at a very high speed without interruption, while maintaining indistinguishable obstacles from the terrain or atmosphere. Both sides of the current war in Ukraine are increasingly used by fiber drones. However, in addition to range restrictions, the optic cable increases the weight of UAVs, which can affect its amount.

Kiev has already increased the production of its own fiber drones, but one of the problems is the purchase of fiber optic cables, which are difficult to make on its own. Currently, China is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of fiber optic cables. But production capacity is also found in the US, Mexico, Japan, Italy and India. In the future battlefield, the fiber optic cable can be one of the most important strategic resources.
