Under Kursk, Russians set up ponton crossings instead of bridges through the Diet (Photo)

According to Radio Liberty Observers, ponon crossing will allow the Russian troops to leave in case of successful development of the Ukrainian offensive. On August 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the last bridge across the Seimas River on August 19, complicating the enemy's logistics. At the same time, Russian troops are trying to establish communications with pontoon bridges. One of these crossings through the Seimas was noticed east of the village of Nazna, Radio Svoboda reports.

The publication writes that the deployment of pontoon bridges is evidenced by satellite images of August 17. That is, the Russian command tried to establish the logistics of its troops during the first strikes of the Armed Forces on the bridges. For example, the pontoons were noticed east of Glushkovo village, where the Ukrainian forces destroyed the bridge across the river on August 16, thus cutting off part of the settlements of Glushkiv district.

"They can be intended to provide the Russian military routes of departure in the event of successful development of the Ukrainian offensive," the statement said. We will remind, after the first blow in the Kursk region on August 18 the second bridge was destroyed, as reported by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces Mykola Oleshchuk. The commander specified that the impact was struck by Ukrainian pilots who used high precision weapons against the enemy's objects.
