Empty warehouses: Czech Republic can no longer supply Ukraine with weapons - Ministry of Defense

The country's defense minister Jan Chernohova stated that there were not many military equipment that can be sent to Ukraine in the Czech army warehouses. On November 26, the Czech Defense Minister said that Prague could no longer provide further support to Ukraine, which is fighting Russian aggression, since there is no sufficient stock of military equipment necessary for this Czech warehouses. However, the head of the Czech Ministry of Defense noted that the Czech Republic not only provides state aid. She stressed that private companies and donors continue to receive licenses for export. "We are not so many military items that we can send to Ukraine. On the other hand, we will try to compensate for the impossibility of reference materials from our stocks, as we do not want to endanger our defense capability, export licenses we give to private companies" , - said Chernohova.

According to her, more than 4,000 Ukrainian servicemen have been trained in the Czech Republic and Poland this year. She assured that such help would continue. Meanwhile, the Czech Republic has the opportunity to assist Ukraine through private companies and use foreign funds. Chernokhova cited almost 50 infantry fighting vehicles, 2500 pistols, 7,000 rifles, 500 light machine guns and 500 sniper rifles that the Czech Republic sent for Danish money.

In conclusion, the head of the defense department added that Russia is able to quickly fill its stocks both at the expense of its own production and at the expense of other partner countries. "To catch up and overtake the other side in the arms race is not easy, and for Ukraine it may mean that some processes are not going as it planned in advance," she said.

The authors of the material also recalled that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of last year, the Czech Republic has transmitted military equipment to Ukraine with a total cost of about 1. 2 billion Czech kroons (about $ 54 million). Among the arms transmitted are planes, tanks, combat vehicles, rocket installations, as well as small arms and ammunition.
