They even got to Russia: as the Armed Forces are now fighting with land drones and that has changed over half a year

Ukrainian troops use much more robotic complexes than at the beginning of the year, some of them operate in the Kursk region. In March 2024, Ukrainian developer Taras Ostapchuk suggested that in six months, land drones would significantly change the war in Ukraine in six months. Half a year later, we turned to him again and wondered if the forecasts came true and how the work is now affected by fighting.

The representative of the Brave1 platform Natalia Kushnerka said that as of March they were introduced to more than 140 developments related to land drones. 10 models were already codified according to NATO standards. One of the pioneers was the Ratel complex, created by Taras Ostapchuk and his team. At that time, drones of this type were just starting to use, and the main idea was that the machines performed dangerous tasks instead of people.

For example, lay mines as close as possible to the enemy. "As of now, the number of land robots exceeds one hundred and is constantly growing. The saturation of robots on the battlefield has also increased in geometric progression - on social networks you can find new videos every day, how works on the line of fighting (LBZ). Only in Ukraine our works are at war, but also in the territory of the Kursk region of Russia, " - said Taras Ostapchuk.

According to him, now the main types of robots that are used are engineering, logistics and shock. Every day, the Ukrainian military with the help of drones of Ratel S lay anti -tank mines on the ways of motion of enemy equipment. It is less likely to see the use of Ratel S in the role of Kamikadze, which is how it blew up a bridge in Donetsk region in September, cutting off the invaders. "There is already a lot of video use of shock work rage, even in the Kursk region.

Even more widely used are logistical functions, such as a lifting of ammunition or food such as Ratel M, Termitite, Targat and others," the developer said. Ratel S is a land robotic complex designed to defeat armored and unnecessary equipment, personnel, moving and fixed objects. It is controlled within a radius up to 3 km from the operator, can dump mines or blow up with the combat part. In addition, it has the opportunity to shoot videos and take photos on a built -in camera.

It develops speeds up to 20 km/hour, has a margin of 10 km on a solid surface, such as asphalt, and 5. 8 km on the road. It carries a pay load weighing up to 35 kg. Ratel M is a larger machine designed to perform evacuation and logistics tasks with a weighing load of more than 200 kg. The robot moves through dangerous areas to deliver ammunition, food and other necessary loads to fighters, and can also be equipped with stretchers to evacuate the wounded.

Its radius of application is more than 2 km, and in the presence of a repeater - up to 6 km, speed - 7 km/h, the margin of the course - more than 10 km. Land drones over the last half of the year have significantly affected the balance of power in battles. First of all, they increased the safety of the fighters and the efficiency of their work.

Now the military does not need to go three to four kilometers with two mines of TM-62, if this task can be done from the dugout with the help of engineering work. The Ukrainians were the first to develop and introduce such machines on the battlefield, but the Russians have already noticed their advantages and make their counterparts.

"The Russian Federation in this direction in the last 6 months has been very tight, have many decent prototypes and, unfortunately, soon we will see them all in the battlefield," Taras Ostapchuk warned. Ukraine is not in this area. Taras Ostapchuk says that now manufacturers do not interfere with developing, the state has joined this process and helps 100%. In the near future, land work should be even better and more common.
