The government allocated UAH 2.5 billion for housing for families affected by the war: how to use the help

Share: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate an additional 2. 5 billion UAH to the "eRecovery" program. The funds will be used to finance housing certificates, which will be given to more than 1,600 families whose homes were destroyed as a result of Russian aggression.

As reported by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, money for the implementation of the program will be allocated from the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. In particular, the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba noted that the state continues to support families who lost their homes due to the war.

According to him, each certificate is an opportunity for people to regain their home, and such assistance should be systematic, transparent and carried out in cooperation with international partners. Over 143,000 families have already received compensation for the total amount of almost UAH 50 billion within the framework of the "yesRecovery" program. More than 116 thousand families received funds for the restoration of damaged housing in the amount of more than UAH 11 billion.

More than 26,000 families received housing certificates for destroyed houses in the amount of UAH 37. 8 billion. Among them, about 17,000 families have already purchased new housing, in particular, more than 8,000 are internally displaced persons. In addition, more than 700 families received the first tranche for housing reconstruction on their own land in the amount of over UAH 846 million, and 35 families received the second tranche in the amount of UAH 43. 8 million.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko also confirmed this information and explained that thanks to the new financing, more than 1,600 more families will be able to buy new housing. "The house of Valentina Troyan from Donetsk region was destroyed by the Russians. The woman submitted documents to the National Security Agency, after a remote inspection of the drone, her family received compensation of UAH 3. 6 million. Only five days passed from the submission of the application to the receipt of the money.

The amount for each family is calculated separately," she explained how it works in practice. You can apply for participation in the program through "Diya", at TsNAP or at a notary. Moreover, the submission process has been simplified: now one photo of the destruction is enough, and geolocation can have an error of up to 10 meters. Space imagery and Defense Force data can also be used if the commission does not have access to the crash site.
