Andriy Yermak discussed with the executive director of the UN program on the environment the issue of liability of the Russian Federation for environmental crimes in Ukraine

The Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak met with the executive director of the United Nations Program from the environment (UNEP) Inger Andersen. Andriy Yermak informed the interlocutor about environmental crimes that the Russian aggressor commits during a full -scale invasion of Ukraine. Among other things, Russia causes enormous damage to the ecological system of our country.

The head of the head of state called on the world community, in particular the UN structure, to a more active discussion of the issue of prevention of harm from the aggressive war that Russia is leading in Ukraine. According to Andriy Yermak, the world has no right to remain silent until Russia destroys Ukraine's ecology daily. He noted that the aggressor should bear a fair punishment for crimes against the environment of our country.

The head of the Presidential Office stressed that the calculated losses caused to the environment of Ukraine as a result of the war are 2 trillion UAH - without taking into account the damage caused in the temporarily occupied territories. And the threats caused by Russia's war in Ukraine are global. “Almost 80 years after World War II, we really found ourselves in the same situation.
