Since the beginning of the war with Ukraine, 132,646 Russian citizens have entered the Lithuania, which borders the Kaliningrad region.

Leaped their country and Belarus - 142 504 people crossed the border with Lithuania. From February 24, 35 371 Russian citizens entered the territory of Latvia. A day after the start of a full -scale invasion of Latvia ceased to issue Schengen visas to Russian citizens. Poland also borders with the Kaliningrad region and from February 24, 26 542 Russians entered the country.

In Norway, according to Frontex, from February 24, 8 052 Russian citizens arrived, and from April 15 to August 22, 5,973 people returned. The Russians actively went to Georgia, Turkey, Serbia or UAE. Estonia, together with Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, suggested banning entry on tourist visas in the hope that the rest of the EU would follow their example, the broadcaster said.

Recall that Finland, Estonia and the Czech Republic called on the EU authorities to ban the Russian tourist visas to the Schengen area. The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry is not going to wait for consent within the EU to ban the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and want to do it. UK Defense Minister Ben Volles positively perceived the idea of ​​increasing the control of the issuance of British visas to residents of the Russian Federation, but disagreed with a full ban.
