"In the Pokrovsky direction there are battles for Grodivka and Novogrodivka. We managed to knock down the pace of the enemy a little, we can win for some time until the fighting for these NP," said the Armed Forces officer with the call sign "Alex". He stressed that in the Pichi area there is a more difficult situation, the enemy wants to capture Kalinovo in order to enter the rear of Ukrainian units that defend Karlovka. "By the way, in Karlovka, the guys also hold positions well," he said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that during August 21, the forces of defense repelled 53 assault and offensive actions of the enemy, in particular, towards Panteleimonovka, Vozdvizhenka, Green Field, Mirolyubivka, Grodivka, Mykolaivka, Novogrodivka, Mikhailivka and Pichi. While the highest concentration of enemy attacks was observed near Novogrodivka and Mikhailivka.
