People in black return: Russians allowed to judge international football matches

The last brigade of arbitrators from Russia served a match under the auspices of UEFA on February 24, 2022 - it was a game of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League between Napoli and Barcelona. Russia is gradually returning to international football. Thus, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has appointed Russian Arbiter for the official match of the Women's League of Nations in the League "C" between Armenia and Kazakhstan.

It is known that the Russian brigade will be headed by Opaykin's Vera. Her assistants in the field will be Kateryna Kurochkina and Elena Sobchuk. The fourth arbitration of UEFA appointed Nadiya Gorinov. The whole brigade of judges - citizens of the Russian Federation. The match between the women's national teams of Armenia and Kazakhstan will take place on September 26.

The last brigade of arbitrators from Russia served a match under the auspices of UEFA on February 24, 2022 - it was a game of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League between Napoli and Barcelona. The main arbiter of that meeting was Russian Sergey Karasyov. He was invited to a meeting of judges under the auspices of UEFA in July 2023.

Thereafter, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA published a joint statement according to which Russian national teams and clubs are forbidden to participate in competitions indefinitely due to a full -scale Moscow invasion of Ukraine. Russian arbitrators were also banned from judging international matches. Since then, the Russian national team has been playing only friendly matches.

The Russians managed to play with Kyrgyzstan (2: 1), Uzbekistan (0: 0) and Tajikistan (0: 0) in 2022, as well as with national teams of Iran (1: 1), Iraq (2: 0) and Egypt (1) : 1) this year. According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, against Russia and Belarus, which supports the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, 125 sports sanctions have already been introduced.
