"Russia cannot do it alone": Western sanctions are "killing" Russian Su-57 fighters, — media

Share: From the internal documents of the Russian enterprise OKBM, which were obtained by InformNapalm and the Fenix cyber center, it becomes clear that the Russian Federation cannot independently produce the necessary parts for the fifth-generation Su-57 fighters. In this way, international sanctions are "killing" the Russian fighter jet, writes the Center for Strategic Communications Spravdi.

"It is clear from the documents: Russia itself cannot produce key components for its "fifth generation". For this, imported high-precision machines and equipment from the EU and the USA are needed," the report says. Journalists explained that after the introduction of sanctions, the supply of necessary components stopped, so the Russians had a shortage of production capacity.

"Because of this, programs for the creation and modernization of aviation are regularly disrupted," the Center for Strategic Communications noted. They also emphasized that purchases through China do not save the situation, since the production of the Su-57 requires precisely European and American equipment. Experts noted that on October 23, 2025, OKBM was officially added to the 19th package of EU sanctions, which further slowed down the production of the Su-57 and other aircraft.
