The Russian Federation is preparing to test a new laser module for the destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), created within the Belarusian-Russian project.

This was told by a representative of the Belarusian company "Lemt", which participates in the project, the Russian edition of the TASS at the defense exhibition "National Security. Belarus-2024". It is reported that the laser will be able to affect the drones at least six kilometers. According to the manufacturer, the laser capacity allows you to destroy ballistic goals, but so far in this direction there are no specific works.

Currently, the main tasks of the company are to increase the capacity and accuracy of the device. "We have fulfilled our part, it is transferred to Russia. Now on the Russian side we are doing general installation and preparation for the test," - said Lemt representative. According to Belarusian developers, in parallel with the development of a powerful laser, they also created a "small mobile system" with a capacity of 3 kW.

It is expected that this year its capacity will increase to 10 kW, and the next - up to 60 kW. It will be a stationary system, since it requires 200 kW to power it.
