The insurgents of the expensive road Russian radar 48ya6-K1. It stood on the basis of the Tiger Special Forces. Syrian rebels captured the modern Russian radar range "Penters-K1" (48ya6-K1). It is reported by Defense Blog. It is noted that the advanced mobile radar was on the basis of the 25th Special Purpose Division, also known as the Tiger forces, a unit closely connected with President Bashar Assad.

According to the editions, the rebels, headed by the Hayat Tahrir Ash-Sham group, were faced with minimal resistance when they entered the base. "The radar was thrown, just stood there, and it was taken without a battle," said a local source. Radar's capture is considered as a failure for Bashar Assad's military capabilities in the area, given that radars such as modern Russian "plot-K1" play a crucial role in the management of airspace and defense.

The radar station provides automatic detection and determination of the coordinates of the target, capture and support of any aerodynamic goals, determination of state affiliation and issuance of information about the targets of the S-300 and C-400 SPRs, as well as fighter aviation. At the same time, it can detect up to 200 goals at a distance of 10 to 300 km at a maximum height of 10 km. The estimated cost of the radar complex is $ 5 million.
