The disruption of enemy aviation, as ISW analysts suggest, will force Russian troops to free the airport and thus slow down the logistics of Russia. More than a dozen military helicopters have placed in the occupied Lugansk Russian occupiers. This is stated in the daily analytical report of the American Institute of War.

The analysts of the Institute refer to a Ukrainian reserve officer who reported on August 8 that according to satellite images, the Russian authorities recently located 12-16 Russian helicopters at Lugansk International Airport. These helicopters are outside the area of Ukrainian Himars and MAZRC. The disruption of these helicopters will force Russian troops to release the airport and thus slow down the logistics of Russia.

The author of the publication notes that "landscapes" on the map emphasize the need of Ukraine in long -range weapons (105 km). "The airport has not been operating since 2014, but this year it has been re-profiled for a helicopter base for operations on the Donetsk-Luhansk Front. On average, 12-16 helicopters are on average. But the response time in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, ”the message reads.
