The minister noted that detour routes to Hungary are possible through the airspace of Turkey, Montenegro or Serbia, but there are no guarantees of safety. Separately, Sikorsky drew attention to the political aspect of Putin's visit to Hungary.

According to him, the invitation of the Russian leader demonstrates Budapest's desire to position itself as a mediator between the West and Moscow. The minister also emphasized that Hungary, by continuing to purchase Russian oil, does not contribute to the consolidation of support for Ukraine in the EU.

The publication also notes that the meeting between the presidents of the US and Russia was announced last week after a telephone conversation between Trump and Putin, which took place before Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington. The talks are scheduled after the high-level meetings of the delegations of both countries.

Trump said that the purpose of the meeting is to find ways to end the war in Ukraine, while Zelenskyi expressed doubts about Putin's readiness for a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Then some countries, in particular Poland, Romania and the Baltic states, may demand the landing of his plane.
